Out & About

In the Staffordshire Moorlands

We're privileged to be located in one of Englands most beautiful areas, The Peak District National Park. Surrounded by rolling hills, winding rivers and streams there is plenty to explore!

Here are some walks just a stones throw away from The Jervis Arms:

The Onecote Walk

Start & finish this walk from The Jervis.

Wetton Mill to Butterton

We're a perfect stop off point.

The Manifold Trail

9 miles of former railway line for all levels, great if you have a buggy.

The Peak District

Onecote may be out in the sticks, but we are very close to some historical and beautiful towns, as well as some lovely places of interest. We definitely believe these places are worth a visit.

Leek - 6 miles

A historic market town, with a range of antique shops.

Ashbourne - 12 miles

The gateway to the Peak District - Known for its Shrovetide Football match, where even Prince Charles has started the game!

Buxton - 15 miles

Home of the famous mineral water, there is plenty to see in Buxton, including the opera house, ornamental gardens and the crescent (currently under refurbishment)

Bakewell - 17 miles

Home of the original Pudding, not a tart!

Chatsworth House - 21 miles

A stately home with activates for all the family, including an adventure playground and farmyard.

Haddon Hall - 18 miles

900 years of history, if these walls could talk! Also used for film & TV productions; you never know, you may even bump into Dame Judi Dench!

Peak Cavern - 25 miles

Also known as The Devils Arse, it is one of four caves in the stunning village of Castleton.

Alton Towers Resort - 9 miles

The place to go for all adrenaline junkies!

Recharge after a long day of exploring.

Sometimes a day just isn't enough, after all the Peak District is a very large area!
